Wintermute, a leading cryptocurrency market maker, was hacked and lost approximately $160 million.
Wintermute's founder and CEO, Evgeny Gaevoy, revealed in a series of tweets that the company's decentralised finance operations had been hacked.
Wintermute, which has Lightspeed Venture Partners, Pantera Capital, and Fidelity's Avon as investors, is still solvent, with "twice that amount in equity left."
Only two of the 90 assets hacked were worth more than $1 million, indicating that there should be no major selloff.
Wintermute offers liquidity on more than 50 exchanges and trading platforms, including FTX and Kraken, as well as decentralised platforms Dydx and Uniswap.
Gaevoy and Wintermute did not say when the hack occurred or how the attackers were successful.
