Binance-linked blockchain hit by $570 million crypto hack


A $570 million attack has affected a blockchain connected to Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world.

 Tokens had been taken from a blockchain "bridge" utilised in the BNB Chain, formerly known as the Binance Smart Chain until February.

Utilizing blockchain bridges, cryptocurrency may be moved across other apps.

Criminals have increasingly targeted them, with some $2 billion stolen in 13 different hacks

According to Zhao's post, the thieves made off with almost $100 million worth of cryptocurrency.

According to statistics website CoinGecko, Binance Coin is the fifth-largest cryptocurrency in the world with a market value of over $45 billion.

BNB Chain briefly shut down its blockchain before starting it up again around 0630 GMT.
